I Have Been Fortunate Enough To Visit His Archive And Was Struck Immediately When I First Came Across A Small Swatch Of This Cloth. Beginning With Australian Merino Wool, The Kasuri (Ikat) Dye Process Results In An Irregular Check Pattern - Woven Loosely With A Gauze Structure And Then Washed To Tighten The Weave For A Puckered Texture. The Resulting Cloth Is A Rather Airy, Light Weight Worsted Wool With A Very Dry Hand - A Transitional Three Season Cloth."
